Beach+Preach is a weekly summer gathering for our neighbors, friends, and family — a chance to relax, catch up, and reconnect. We realize how easy it is to miss time with everyone as well as put church on the back burner because life just gets busy. So we thought: why not combine it all?
Join us most Thursdays this summer (see calendar below). Bring wine/beer/other, something to snack on, and come hang out. We’ll catch up, fish, sit on the dock or just enjoy a summer evening together.
At 6:00 PM, we’ll stream the previous Sunday’s service from Flatirons Community Church.
This is about as informal as it gets. You can sit and watch, listen from the dock with a fishing rod and a beer, or just take in whatever parts resonate with you.
Everyone is welcome — whether you’re deeply rooted in faith, skeptical, curious, questioning, or not sure what you believe at all. We embrace the messy, imperfect, complicated parts of life because we’re right there too. But we also believe there’s a good and patient God meeting us in the middle of it all.
So come join us for community, conversation, and a little bit of summer.
And if the “Preach” part isn’t your thing, no worries at all. The service lasts about an hour, so feel free to come around 5:30 and head out before the message starts, or stop by around 7:00 just to hang out afterward.
Come for as little or as much as you’d like — we’d simply love to have you!

Join us every Thursday starting June 4th until Labor Day Weekend.
Check back each week for updates!

Bring your favorite wine, beer, or beverage of choice. We’ll have a few snacks on hand, but feel free to bring a 20-piece KFC if that’s your jam! You may also want to toss a chair in the car. We should have enough seating, but an extra never hurts.
Throw in your beach toys too - fishing rods, paddle boards, whatever you feel like doing!
We're the last house before the neighborhood lake access.
In order to minimize scams & phishing, you can find our address & phone in the neighborhood directory.
If there’s space in the driveway, feel free to park there. Otherwise, drive down to the backyard on the south side of the house. Either way, come straight to the backyard — we won’t be answering the front door.
No problem, we'll move the party inside!
Don't worry, the website is just a photo dump of our kids, grandkids, and family who like to hang out. They’ll come and go throughout the summer, but they’re all excited to meet our neighbors!
Feel free to email us for anything else!

Hi neighbors!
We wanted to introduce ourselves and share a bit of our story, as it shapes why we’re launching Beach+Preach.
We have two children — a daughter (23) and a son (21). We were the “Beaver Cleaver” family as the kids grew up. We had our typical ups and downs, but overall, we felt like we were pretty good at this parenting thing. Until we weren’t…
Our daughter was both academically and athletically gifted, earning near-perfect SAT scores and becoming a Division I soccer recruit at just 14. Over the next three years, everything turned upside down. Three concussions later, a series of unhealthy relationships, substance abuse, and Covid threw her, and us, into a tailspin. She lost her scholarship, left school, and broke ties with family. A few months later she notified us she was getting married, with 24-hour’s notice.
It was the hardest period of our lives.
Eight months later, her marriage became abusive, and she hit rock bottom. She called us to come pick her up — her marriage was over. That call changed everything.
Today, three years later, after a long road of healing and medical treatment, she is healthy, working, and back in school pursuing a psychology degree, with the goal of becoming a therapist who helps women heal from trauma. We have a fully restored relationship with her and are so deeply grateful.
We share this story because it was the first time in our lives where we truly felt like we lost control of everything we held so close. Our marriage was strained, our family fractured. Annah’s father gracefully reminded us that we were never in control to begin with — and that we needed to trust God’s plan and timing. That season reshaped our priorities, our marriage, and our purpose. Since then, we’ve felt called to share our story and to build something rooted in faith, restoration, and community.
While we don’t know what will become of Beach+Preach, we think a good place to start is to open our backyard to our neighbors. Hopefully it will serve as a safe space to be real about family, faith, fish, and get some encouragement when life doesn’t go as planned.
We look forward to connecting with you!
